Here is Love Vast as the Ocean

A thought for the evening–God knew every single time you would doubt Him, every time you would mock Him, every time you would refuse His help before He even created the world.  God loved you before you were born.  God knew every time you would betray Him, and loved you anyways.

Wow.  That’s amazing.

That is a love vast as the ocea, that God, Who “knows my downsitting and my uprising and understands my thoughts afar off,” would love me in spite of those very actions I do.  God has already paid the price for sin.  I John tells us that Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil.  The war is won already.  Jesus’ redeeming work is finished.  And as we live in this imperfect world, struggling sinning creatures, we must remember that the victory is indeed God’s.  And we may fail Him, but He will not fail us.  His forgiveness waits for us and His mercies are new every morning.  Oh, the great, deep love of Jesus Who sees our infirmities and lifts us up by no merit of our own, but by His own grace and mercy.   And we have this confidence with David in Psalm 138, our God “will perfect that which concerneth us.”

And we can pray with Jude–“Now unto Him that is able to keep you from falling and to present you faultless before His throne with exceeding joy, to the only wise God, be glory both now and forevermore.  Amen.”
